Argument of Fact
For my argument of fact paper I would like to clear up that not all abused children suffer the the same emotional consequences. I will provide information about how some refuse to go into those emotional consequences so that they can have a better future. There are child abuse victims that did not turn into delinquents, home runaways, serial killers, or child abusers. Even though child abuse is wrong and it needs to stop, we must not discriminate every person that went through something like this and believe they are a threat to society. There are testimonies of child abuse victims who experienced different results than usual child abused victims. I need to find the percentages of those people in society.

What My Resources Have Shown Me
Over the week I chose three sources on my topic to write my annotated bibliography. Each of these sources had valuable information which I used in my annotated bibliography. One source had more information about the emotional consequence child abuse has a child, such as isolation depression, anxiety, eating disorder, suicide attempts, P.T.S.D., and low self-esteem. The second source I used for my paper taught me about the economic consequences of child abuse in adulthood. Adults who suffered from child abuse have a lower level of education, low earnings, fewer assets, and are less likely to own a home, a bank account, stock, a vehicle, and also more likely to have a mortgage debt. My last source has a bit of everything, such as health consequences of child abuse, psychological consequences of child abuse, the types of abuse, short-term and long-term consequences, and the emotional instability of child abuse. Physical abuse in a early childhood can create malformation to certain parts of the brain which leads to speech problems, visual, cognitive, and motor damage. Behavioral consequences of physically abused children are delinquency, aggressive behavior, running away from home, lying, violent relationships, early sexual activity, addictions, problems in thinking, and social withdraw. The psychological consequences in this source are similar to my first one, such as depression, anxiety, P.T.S.D., learning difficulties, attention disorders, and problems with memory. Most of this is very surprising. I knew about some behavioral consequences, but everything else was new. I feel that I still need to learn what are the statistics to these consequences. That means I might have to look at more sources and find the ones who provide what I need. I might look at more articles.

Finding Academic Sources
Finding sources to answer the questions on my topic took
a lot of patience. I searched for my sources in my University’s library link. At
times it was so much to soak in I just had to quit for a while, and then
continue my search. To find what I needed and wanted for my topic I entered “long-term
and short-term consequences of child abuse” and quickly thousands of results
popped out. Luckily, there are ways to narrow down those results, such as setting
how old I want my sources to be. All my sources take different approaches. Some
talked about the psychological consequences of child abuse, some were very
specific as to what kind of child abuse brings what kind of consequences, and
others about the behavioral consequences of child abuse. Each of those different
perspectives are important for my research and so I saved them. Another place I
found some sources was at my University’s library. My tutor and I took some
time to find some trade journals and books about my topic. We walked around for
a while and got some help. We looked in some journals, but we weren't successful.
We ran out of time and ended our search with only online sources. By looking at
these sources I noticed how child abuse has been an issue for many years and
about the incredible consequences there are from child abuse. There are some
victims that end up with bad consequences and not living a happy life and then
there’s those who end up having a good life and just leaving their child abuse
in the past.
